Something I value about working at Aurora Pediatric Therapy and Integrative Health is getting to develop connections with the kids. Seeing them smile and be excited about the little things makes all the difference in my day and it truly makes me appreciate this job so much more

I have had the distinct privilege of working at Aurora Pediatric Therapy & Integrative Health for almost a year now. It sounds cliche to say that a place of work can feel like family, but in the case of Aurora Pediatric, that is actually the case! Doctor Laura - the always compassionate and innovative leader - never wavers from her vision of excellence and commitment that trickles all the way down into every corner of this clinic.

In addition to Dr. Laura, we have the most gifted bunch of RBTs and BCBAs that you will find anywhere. Their collaborative spirit and devotion to their clients is truly a wonder to behold. For them, this is not just a job. It is calling, and that calling very much extends to our exquisite Speech and Occupational Therapy providers as well! There is no such thing as a set schedule in this line of work, and I marvel at how these Speech and OT providers continually alter their plans at a moment’s notice if it means that the highest level of care achievable will be imparted to their clients.

There is an atmosphere of resounding kindness and echoing excellence that rings throughout this clinic like bells beckoning those in need to step through our doors and find solace. People are treated like valued human beings here from the clients to the employees! I consider my employment at Aurora Pediatric to be one of the great blessings of my life, and by working there, I consistently have many opportunities to pass that blessing on to everyone who walks through our clinic’s doors!

I’ve been with APTIH for almost two years, and it’s been an incredibly rewarding experience. I started as a Speech Language Pathologist, and after just one year, I was promoted to Lead SLP. In my role, I have the privilege of leading the speech department, supervise students and clinical fellows, and provide mentorship to help them grow in their practice. I also have had the opportunity to build strong community relationships and collaborate closely with physicians and schools to ensure the best outcomes for our patients.
What really stands out to me here is the collaborative and supportive work environment. My coworkers are amazing, and everyone is always eager to learn from one another. We are all dedicated to making things as successful as possible, whether it’s improving patient care or helping each other grow professionally.
One of the things I truly appreciate about working at APTIH is the impact we have on our patients and their families. As a small business, we have the ability to make a real difference, and I’m proud to be a part of a team that truly cares about the people we serve. The opportunity for growth—both professionally and clinically—has been invaluable, and I’m excited to see what’s ahead!

A (dvocacy) We believe in the power of advocacy. We are advocates for the needs of our patients and families as well as for others around us. We listen with empathy and give our full attention to the present moment without judging. This allows for our team to foster resilience and positive outcomes with the patients and families we serve. We are committed to closing knowledge gaps between the health care provider and the recipient of those services.

(inter-professiona)L (Practice) We believe in collaboration and multidisciplinary care for your child’s individual benefit. We are committed to your individuals and caregivers having more time to spend engaged in living life with their community and support network not engaged in life long therapy.

I (nclusivity) We believe in honoring the diverse and unique perspective of all people, regardless of neurotype, gender, ethnicity, religion, or creed through strategizing and providing learning supports that align with individual, caregiver and support network values. In our center, an individual’s authentic self is affirmed, valued and cultivated. Our philosophy is founded in cognitive empathy and mindfulness, with an emphasis on mental health, which support an inclusive and highly personalized visit in our center.

T (ransparency) We believe in transparency in all aspects of business operations from our billing practices, patient account management, and patient care.

E (xcellence) Using evidence-based practices, data, and continuous improvement practices, we use facts to drive decision making, resulting in excellence through all aspects of patient care and employee experience.
